Susan Leach – solicitor, abuse department
Susan Leach joined the firm in 2011. Working within the abuse department she represents victims of abuse who are making a claim either as an individual or as part of a larger group.
In March 2013 her skills whilst working in a highly specialist area were recognised when she was awarded Legal Executive of the year at the Manchester Legal Awards.
Before joining Simpson Millar Susan worked for an organisation known as Partners of Prisoners & Families Support group (POPS).
Susan has been praised by her clients for her help and support.
When Susan was asked what part of your role gives you the most satsisfaction, she replied: “The clients I work for are victims of abuse in childhood who have felt throughout their lives unable to disclose what happened to them as they have felt that they would not be believed. When they disclose to me therefore, it’s sometimes the first time that they feel anyone has ever listened. It is hard not to become discouraged and cynical about human nature but although I am not their counsellor, I feel privileged that in some way I am able to support them through the legal process”.
“I cannot praise the whole staff highly enough. From the reception staff, who are always polite and courteous, to Peter and a special mention to Sue Leach who has been a great help and support since the start of the case”.
John Hastie, Manchester
“I found the staff very helpful and easy to talk to. In terms of your level of service, carry on the way you are”.
Mr Brian Wexler, Manchester
“I have nothing but praise for your firm and I am very grateful and humbled by your service. There were a couple of times I wanted to forget about it but you gave me the strength to carry on and most importantly, you treated me like a human being and not a victim. You are caring, sensitive, helpful and on top of it all you get results.”
