Securing a record Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) settlement for Quality Solicitors Abney Garsden of £500,000. This was on behalf of a female client who suffered abuse at the hands of her father. This is the largest award the firm has achieved for a client under the scheme, which is capped at £500,000.
Red Bank group action – Deborah obtained the first Group Litigation Order in the country.
“Although I have successfully been lead solicitor for a number of group actions, every client’s case I have dealt with has been important. The nature of abuse work means it is difficult to choose a career highlight. I have huge enthusiasm for what I do and every settlement represents an achievement and does make a difference to the client’s life”.
“When I embarked on my quest for justice I had control issues. I was not an easy client and I’m particularly grateful for the care, patience, support and professionalism afforded me by Deborah in the handling of my case. As my case progressed my understanding of things evolved – and what were once very strongly held views and opinions are now more lightly held perspectives, open to change, and the constant whisperings in my head have subsided and afford me a level of peace hitherto unknown. A value cannot be put on this. Difficult though the whole process was, my advice to anyone would be, to overcome any trust and or control issues from the outset. Let Deborah loose to deal with your case, safe in the knowledge that Deborah and her team are expert at what they do and firmly in your corner”.
“You have been exceptional, straightforward and upfront with me from day one. Your level of service has been very very good”.
Dominic Davis, Lancashire
