Click to watch video: Jimmy Savile alleged child abuse at Broome House, Manchester
Peter Garsden has spoke out after the recent claims that Jimmy Savile abused children in three Manchester children’s homes. Broome House, in Manchester, which is now closed, has been named as one of the three children’s homes under investigation.
This comes after the leading child abuse lawyer at Simpson Millar, appealed for people who were abused as children from the 1950’s to the 1990’s in Manchester City Council run homes to speak out about the abuse they suffered. This appeal comes as a cut off date has been set in which claims for compensation can be made as part of the largest ever group action for alleged child abuse.
In an interview with ITV last Thursday Mr Garsden said: “in my experience once there is a sex offender operating at children’s homes other people arrive who are also of the same persuasion and abuse children there.”
