An order of the Court determining liability as between the parties to an action. This is usually made having regard to the merits of the case, but in the case of a default judgment it is made only because of some serious failure by the Defendant to file documents at Court or serve documents upon the Claimant. A final judgment will also deal with quantum (see below).
